Apache Indian, a music artist who was born and raised in Birmingham, UK, is renowned for his unique blend of Urban Asian and Reggae sounds. He first released his song "Movie Over India" independently in 1989, which climbed to the top of the National Reggae and Asian charts in the UK. Jet Star Records, one of the leading reggae labels based in London, signed him in 1990, and he went on to record "Chokthere" and "Don Raja," both of which topped the charts in 1991. In 1992, he signed with Island Records (Universal), Bob Marley's label, and went to Kingston, Jamaica, to work on his debut album at Bob Marley's Tuff Gong Studio with Sly & Robbie.

Apache's debut album on Island Records, "No Reservations," was released in 1992, with the first single "Arranged Marriage" reaching the 16th spot on the National British Charts. Apache was the first British Asian artist to perform on several popular shows like "Top of the Pops," "The Late Show with Jools Holland," "Blue Peter," and "The Word," marking the first time Asian urban music and the Bhangra sound hit the mainstream charts.

Apache was recognized as the first Asian Pop artist in the UK and internationally, having released seven albums, numerous singles, and featured on various collaborations with an array of artists. He has sold over 10 million albums, achieved seven top forty UK chart hits, and received four Brit Award nominations, the Mercury Music Prize, the Ivor Norvello Award, and many other accolades from the mainstream, Asian, and Reggae music industries from around the world.

In 1995, Apache became the first Asian DJ to have his own show on BBC Radio 1. He also presented "Reggae Sound System" for MTV from Jamaica, "Apache Goes Indian" for Channel 4 from India, and "Soul Music" for Charlton TV/ITV.

Apache's hit song "Boomshackalak" has topped charts worldwide and been featured in seven Hollywood movies, including "Dumb & Dumber 1 & 2," "Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed," and "Bioderm." His songs have also been featured in Bollywood movies like "Love Birds," "Dil Apna Punjabi," and "Iddarammayiliatho," among others. "Boomshackalak" has now been featured in over 200 TV commercials for popular brands such as McDonald's, Wrangler Jeans, Colgate, and Lynx, with an advert featuring Jennifer Anniston and again with Boxing Legend Anthony Joshua in 2021.

Apache has performed in major venues and cities worldwide, including the UK, Japan, USA, Canada, Trinidad, Jamaica, across Europe, India, Pakistan, Asia, Australia, and Africa, and has celebrated over 30 years in the music business. His music has crossed over, broken down barriers, and brought people together, earning him the reputation of being a pioneer, a true legend, and an icon in the music industry.

Apache has had the unique opportunity to collaborate with artists and producers from different music genres, including pop, reggae, hip hop, Bhangra, and Bollywood. Apache Indian runs his own Music Academy called Apache Indian Music Academy - AIM Music Academy helping young people with music and life skills based at South & City College in Birmingham and was recently honoured by the Queen of England with a British Empire Medal (BEM) for services to Music & the Youth and for starting a new genre of Music known today as the Asian Urban Sound.
